Rendering is a bitch.
Right now this is driving me nuts.
Motion blur is expensive, try to optimize the geometry as much as possible.
Textures and shaders also increase render time. (subsurface,displacement,etc...3D is all about optimization.
- Optimizing the lights you're using is also important. Raytracing is expensive aswell.ApeRobot

Motion blur in post might be an idea if it's killing the render. Check out Reel Smart Motion blur for After Effects. Use a motion vector pass from C4D to generate the blur.
- Yeh, real smart is awesome and so quick, great results.mikotondria3

I'm sure your more-than-adequate machine is doing its best, and that the results are terrific.
Just learn some patience, sir.
Some of us would have to start rendering then go to bed*, and return in the morning for comparable results.
(* a good portion of us would wake in the night, to discover a frozen computer, and anger our wives with our remonstrations).

I've been there too, but this discrepancy is the difference between a 10-15 minute render and the wife waking up at 4am.
P.S. I'm divorced now.

- no problems. I'm much happier now.CyBrainX
