and I made my company buy me a mouse other than apple's.
They're great for browsing but horrible for work.- I currently have a MSFT wireless mouse plugged into my MBP. FTW!brandon_phillip

I've had this problem, too. Only in InDesign. Turning off scrolling in System Preferences should work, but has an obvious drawback.

I actually love mine, I bring an extra one to wherever I'm contracting just so I can use it on any computer they put me on.
I have disabled the second button, because I'm used to working with the single mouse button.I draw typography elements with it too, and people asked me if I've used a wacom tablet to do it. I just set oval brushes in illustrator to give character to the strokes.
I find it to be really comfortable too, I do think a wacom is easier on the hand/ wrist but I'm a lefty that uses the mouse with the right hand, so I never got used to the wacom because it feels wrong, no matter what hand I use it with :(

I love the touch features, and customization capabilities of this mouse, but it is very buggy. Continuously losing connection and it will also get into seizure mode where the pointer shoots quickly to a random edge of the screen. And always have problems with the double-blinking green light not going away. I turn it off and on and it doesn't reconnect. The only thing that helps is restarting the computer.
- take out the batteries and put them back in. easy fix.doesnotexist
- Hahahaha! Do you think I haven't tried this?? I can't count how many times I've taken out the batteries.CanHasQBN
- I'm still laughing at your suggestion.CanHasQBN
- I don't have these problems. Nor does anyone I know. Maybe yours is just a faulty unit?nb
- I've googled these problems. All of them are known.CanHasQBN
- Perhaps there are lots of faulty units? Like I said, everyone I know doesn't have the problem.nb
- maybe you're an asshole?doesnotexist
- I have these exact problems but taking the batteries out usually fixes it.fadein11
- Everyone in my office has one, everyone has this issue. I've found that...Daithi
- ...changing the settings so that it’s very sensitive helps, because you don't need to move or lift itDaithi
- ...which in a way is madness, but you get used to it very quicklyDaithi

I really like mine as well. Using MagicPrefs really increases the custom settings you can use for taps, clicks, swipes and other functionality.

it is what it is... an experimental touch input mouse

I love mine. Been using it since day 1. Maybe you have parkinsons.

simply clean-off the Lubriderm lotion with a dry tissue.

common people can we all agree that the mm is a heavy piece of shyte,
you can love it, you can even think it's usefulbut it's still a piece of shyte mouse.
Why? you ask methe mouse is at best suffering from touch Parkinson,
you can surf the web with it and enjoy the ridiculous gestures,
but as soon as you open any creative products (Adobe, discreet, even fuckn ms xcell) the side swipe becomes a pain, the stupid gestures aren't that usefull
and
if you have to turn off some function on your mouse to make it work with your creative suite,
it's time for you to get a real mouse- not arguing with you but what is a "real" mouse. give me an example as i'm about to buy a MM myself...prophetone
- this will work well without
you having to buy batts

If the cursor is shooting around, you might just need to put a piece of paper underneath it. I think the laser diode thing in the bottom works via reference. So, if you are on a remotely shiny surface the mouse doesn't know how to reference the motion.......I think

I've had the same problem in InDesign *without* the Magic Mouse. So maybe it isn't the mouse.

it's perfect for surfing the web, but SUCKS in illustrator.

I have a Toshiba X20 at home and I would buy another til the foreseable future, they were discontinued though so they are more difficult to find. Perfect for games too. Fuckin extra sensitive with a very good weight / feel (sensitivity level buttons directly on the hardware + profiles if you're on Windows, which I'm not so I don't know how that works.
http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-X2…- thanks. on a mac, my primary motivation is to cut the cord and go as lite as possible...prophetone
