Hiya buddies!
Gonna get a 360 shortly, and I'm mainly getting it for ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 (fighting game) and netflix, so I was planning on getting the 4gb version as its cheaper.
But if I were to later start playing more and using it more is it easy to upgrade the hard drive? Anyone done this?
I found some guides but they all seem to be quite different and have different opinions. I've built several computers so I'm no stranger to hardware and such, but I wonder if microsoft make it difficult to do this.
Hope you can help! :)

ummm all you do is press a button and it pops off. then just put the new one on.

^awesome.
So it really is as simple as changing a pc HDD?I wonder if it's worth just getting the 250gb one in the first place...which xbox to get...first world problems!

I have a 120gb. I haven't come close to filling it up. I copy my games to it to play because it's quieter than the CD drive.
ALSO, if you have an xbox live account, you can copy all your saved game data to their cloud storage.

I would just splurge and get the 250 out of the gate. The 250gb hard drive is more expensive to buy after the fact. You'll also get the wired headset in the 250gb kit. It's not a great headset, but it gets you started.
- v good point. a 250gb hard drive cost more than the difference, so probably wiser to go 250gb.Hombre_Lobo

Also, are you getting the Kinnect bundle or standard? I have seen the non-kinnect 250gb version on for only $50 more than the 4 gb because the 320gb versions are becoming the norm.

"if you wait later this year, the new ones are coming out."
New ones?? :O
As in a completely new model that will play entirely different games OR just a small upgrade (like hdd etc)?your gamertag has been noted! do you play umvc3? :O

^ yeah bro. the next generation is almost here.
people are arguing over the official release date and specs but so far some specs have been confirmed. (altho Microsoft isn't commenting on any of it, which is standard operational procedure for things like this.)We can look forwards to: Six-core CPU, dual-GPU, with a dual core Kinect (also next gen) included with the base unit. 2GB of DDR3 memory with speculations over the HDD speeds but some say SSD with choices up to 500GB/ with cloud storage. they're calling it, Xbox720 (but that name will change i can imagine)
and as for umvc3, ive played the 2nd one with Dr Doom but its been awhile.

If you can wait until June, you can see if MS is announcing another console at E3. If nothing is said at E3, then it won't be until holiday season 2013 (at least) since they'll announce it at 2013 E3 first. I wouldn't exactly hold my breath for that announcement this June though...
- Me neither. That MS division just posted losses - time to introduce a new console?MrT

4G HD is kinda useless. I believe that the console eats 1 G of that already out of the box. I had to rip the HD out of my old xbox just to use the damn thing because my 4G maxed out with 2 games worth of data and some LIVE stuff. Buying an HD separately isn't cheap so either you order a knock off HD from china or just go for the bigger HD console package.
