A coalition of Internet advocacy organizations and individuals are launching a week of action to combat the CISPA, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act.

Ming boggling how a bunch of idiots are running around ranting about how the gov't wants to take away our "rights" to own assault rifles, shit, killing logical measures to protect citizens, but then is just fine with things like the Patriot Act and now this.
Fucking shallow world. Annoys the hell out of me how people are so easily sold on their own naive principles and just jump into a mob and chant whatever the fear monger's are preaching.
Oh, right, we've been doing this for centuries. Usually because "God" wants it to be so. He's gotta be in there somewhere, surely.
[I just happen to be in the other mob chanting back at this mob, and I feel better :-) ]
- When it comes to protecting rights, there is nothing idiotic about it. acting in fear or not understanding nature of rights is another story. but not as serious as someone who doesn't give a fuck which is another form idiocy or insanity.yurimon

- too many gun freaks have castration anxiety when they hear about any form of "regulation" ...vaxorcist
- but of course, the second ammendment starts out with "well regulated militia"vaxorcist
- Right, and all the anti-any-regulation is purely driven by fearformed
- Wha? I like how you ridicule from a point of ignorance. go look up natural law. doubt you understand anything about it anywayyurimon
- anyways.yurimon

It seems a nunber of congress men and congresswomen have not read the 4tg ammendment in the constitution..... a dpcument they swore to uphold.... time for a mass-impeachment due to violating that oath of office?

Can someone explain to me what reasoning anyone had for the part of this bill that would require employees to give social networking password to their employer? What does that accomplish for the government? It just seems so odd, and they voted AGAINST an amendment to block that part of the bill. Who's idea was it to let that in the bill in the first place?

What's wrong with CISPA? (in as few words as possible)
As it's written CISPA won't protect us from cyber threats, but it will completely destroy privacy. It lets the government spy on you without a warrant.
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/20…
It makes it so you can’t even find out about it after the fact.
http://sunlightfoundation.com/bl…
It makes it so companies can’t be sued when they do illegal things with your data.
https://www.eff.org/cybersecurit…
It allows corporations to cyber-attack each other and individuals outside of the law.
http://www.politico.com/story/20…
It makes every privacy policy on the web a moot point, and violates the 4th amendment.
http://www.aclu.org/blog/nationa…
It contains no protections that prevent corporations from re-purposing data shared for "cybersecurity" purposes for anything else they want: marketing research, debt collection, copyright lawsuits?
- mikotondria30
But once you find out that your data has been shared - and you can certainly include a unique item of data for each, so you'll know who passed on what to whom - won't they have to back up their 'assertion' that sharing it was within the realm of "National Security". That pretty much sounds like it would fall under 4th Amendment style Probably Cause. There must be a valid, supportable cause to have suspected that National Security was in danger that necessitated the selling of your shit ?
Just start telling them lies, making the data worthless.
I am.
Knowing that of course this comment will make it into the matrix, that of course was a lie.
No, that was.
No - this.
