  just noticed pics from this ad campaign being passed around/reposted like crazy the past few days - Lego Minimalist characters 'Imagine' ad. Simpsons, Smurfs, whatever...all sorts of pop culture characters in minimal 3d block form.
  But did JVM simply use an idea of some drawings that were floating around over a year ago?

  which, pardon my german, is regarding the scathing emails he probably got about the campaign

  The real crime with this ad is that is so far removed from what Lego is actually selling today. I wish Lego was about simplicity and imagination. Instead we get crap like this:

  

  Cross promotional product tie-ins that involve no imagination whatsoever.

  • +1 fuck Harry Potter and Star Wars lego. If my kid asked for that he'd get a smack instead– animatedgif
