a really bad accident at work two years ago. Now the lawyers are saying he will get no less then 20 million and your father say's he will pay all your debit and fund a start up for you. Does that seem right? I am really close with my dad but , I could never imagine letting him clear my debt and helping with a start up. Maybe my work ethic is just getting in the way.

Your dad sounds like a stand-up fella. Families help each other, and that transcends work ethic. Take the gift, and honour it by doing well.
- He is. Thankszerocool

Yeah, I think I should just embrace it and brand and build the finest porn website on the internet. *joke

And anyway, it's not like your dad is offering to basically subsidise the rest of your life, right? He's offering to fund a start-up for you, but he's also leaving it up to you whether or not you make a solid success of it, under your own steam.

Accept it and be smart with the money.

Your dad is BOSS. Out of his suffering he wishes to help his son make a real go of his life. You dad is a good man and you are very lucky...
Now take the fucking money, and show him that he was right to believe in you.

I'd throw half of whatever he gave me into some cause like funding the hospital bills of people who had the same injury as your dad but didn't have any legal recourse.
I'd throw a quarter of whatever he gave me into an untouchable retirement fund
I'd throw the rest into whatever startup I wanted... and take it with great honor and care to be successful.

You should buy QBN and stop all the spamming.

keep him on as a consultant/partner/co-owner - sounds like a pretty forthright guy to have in the room

How much are we talking about here? Are you knee fucking deep in debt? If you are, you have every reason feel overwhelmingly guilty seeing as you can't even handle your own money correctly. If you're not in debt, is he handing you over millions for a start-up, or just paying your bills? Doesn't he need most of that money to pay for his injuries?
- just ever so slightly sanctimonious?Fax_Benson
- just ever so slightly, and not any more slightly than other people on this sitemonospaced
- I mean, zerocool might be a 35yrold fuckup living on his dad's couch with $175,000 in debt. He might not be.monospaced
- We just don't know, and without knowing it's hard to tell the guy if he should feel guilty or not.monospaced

- Oh c'mon, these are legit questions to his concern. Either he wants help or he's just bragging.monospaced
- bragging i thinkfadein11

If you would do the same for him, take the support.
- Fax_Benson0
He wants you to have the money - take it. Pretty sure most people would do the same for their kids in that situation.

is this a joke?
the first time i heard someone moaning like a baby about being given financial security... its like reverse trolling.
be happy you fool

Send me your dad's number, I'll have a talk with him and sort everything out.
- CALLES0
nothing wrong with that. he ok?
- <Knuckleberry
- He is ok meaning he can walk and talk but, he is not the same person mentally.zerocool

Is he OK, like he can function well? Then take whatever he gives u & honour him well by success. If not, its for his own safety net.

if my dad had 20 millions from now on we would start to never work again in this life!
- TheMagicSheep0
life doesn't always give you second chances.
looks like not only are both of you are getting one, but you can give a few out too.

Screw the startup business .... imagine how many StormTrooper outfits you can buy for you and all your friends.
Posse of StormTroopers! Every guys dream!Haha.
Seriously though, you lucky bugger at getting the chance of that kind of money. Either invest it well or use it to start up your own company/business and give it your best shot.
Make your dad proud.

One of your BIGGEST PALS on QBN's dad was in a really bad accident at work two years ago. Now the lawyers are saying he will get no less then 20 million and your father say's he will pay all your AWESOME FRIENDS debit and fund a start up for YOUR COMPLETELY RADICAL BUDDY. Does that seem right? I am really close with my BEST FREIND ON QBN and LOVE HIS dad but , I could never imagine letting him clear my debt and helping with a start up. Maybe my work ethic is just getting in the way.
