did they just copy the other browsers? Is that why IE9 will be better?

Ooh, someone who uses a Mac says it's good, as though every Mac user is automatically a barometer of usable coolness. Fuck that cutesy everyday-people rebrand of your piece of shit browser and fuck off while you're doing it.

last ditch effort.

Way too late...
...and with no decent machines to run it on, you'll still get shitty looking text and graphics.
I'll keep my MBP+FF+Chrome thanks

Good for them, fuck I'd love a decent IE once and for all. As a web developer, not as a Windows user which I'm not.

^ Sorry but if you've got people talking about how great the graphics and performance are then don't show shit which appears to be running under 20 FPS

"IE9 is going to launch soon - get your site ready"
Why does that sound like a threat?

It's interesting to see a gigantic corporation like Microsoft struggling to change course after years of lazy monopoly. Having to change their whole (very rigid, it seems) corporate structure.
Vista: absolute crap in every way.
Windows 7: very decent and stable OS. Graphically a small step in the right direction, but still pretty ugly.
Winphone 7: gorgeous interface. Heard good things about the user experience.
Windows 8: Oooh, looking good you guys! You're learning! I'll just search for a file... *Windows Vista-type explorer window pops up* Sigh...
