- Nice one. Saw this on the theatre in junior high.instrmntl
- Wonder if it still holds up_niko
- It does, you just have to embrace it as a corny time capsule but it's very well made, and it's refreshing to see real sets, props and sfx.spl33nidoru

- Have you heard the dumb country remake of her track? Disheartening to say the least.imbecile
- ^ It’s fucking terribleRamanisky2
- it's goddamn disrespectful is what it isimbecile
- She doesn’t mind it, and anything to bring the rednecks closer to the middle is a good thing I’d say._niko
- These are universal themes of struggle and poverty, if poor white trash can connect with a liberal black lesbian then I say it’s a step in the right direction_niko
- i guess a "used to be racist" covering anything tracy chapman brings out my inner karen. this original version is so much better / different imoimbecile
- oh yeah undoubtedly her version is way better, she's amazing_niko
- yup, the original any day. That the cover won "country song of the year" is such a incredible joke it boggles the mind.Nutter
- I met the biggest 9 year mistake of my life to this song. Also fuck that fat redneck, not even going to give it a listen.garbage
- Also the first time I heard it, I was very confused. My first exposure to this sample was Nice and Smooth in elementary school.garbage

- Yeah, this shit's deep-rooted in my brain. I memba feeling a Genuine Connection. Sadly Nairn was never actually somehow magically involved with aliens.Nairn
- It’s amazing, like a Time Machine. That music transported me straight back to being a 12year old.Morning_star
- After the THAMES intro I was expecting some Benny Hill.Ramanisky2
- Ha ha, i was expecting Rainbow.Morning_star

- @hydro74 - like yo'bitches?
YO.
CASHBACK.Nairn - I always found these weird to use, you had to hold the pen at a 90º angle for it to work correctly or you'd just end up with streaks and scratching the paper_niko
- Loved them, still using 0,2, 0,4 and 0,8mm. Fun for dismantling and cleaning. Done all my old comics using them... Oh, memories!OBBTKN
- Shit yes!I I remember them! So good for drawing and tech drawings.sab

Watched this again last night. First time in decades. For a 1986 film it's look is firmly 90s grunge. The acting is largely atrocious, Crispin Glover is odd, Keanu is terrible, Dennis Hopper is great...yet it's charming. Thrash and metal tunes punctuate the bleak vistas. The director went on to do some Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Hannibal episodes. Worth a look if you like a small-town teen, murder, dope-smoking grit.

- Jeez, I had no idea they had been around in '89.bezoar
- I had no idea they were a guitar / drums band!Krassy
- They were like Erasure from accounts, then Darren Emerson came with techno and drugs and changed everything, everything.MrT
- I see what you did there, MrTKrassy
- I was an UW tragic in their heyday, which for me was undoubtedly the Emerson era. Rosskilde and Brixton Academy I think I do remember very fondly : )MrT
