Like personal portfolios you bring to an interview?

Do you mean portfolio as in a collection of 12-15 examples of your best previous work?

i don't think your portfolio should shine but the work should.

Ya a printed Folio of 12-15 examples.
I picked up this book up recently and wanted to see if there were any online resources to see how others present their work. I realize the work should be the star but a good presentation helps.

I've said this before on QBN, and I'll say it again. It's just my opinion, so if you disagree then tell me to fuck-off, but ...
... whenever someone comes into an interview with some fancy-ass expensive portfolio case/book we kinda roll our eyes. This is especially the case if the work inside doesn't live up to the cover.
- some of our best applicants came with a booklet, laser-printed and saddlestitchedmonospaced
- what about an iPad? can't take any "professional" that I see with thesefourth
- once again, doesn't matter as long as the work is great. I've seen great iPad portfoliosmonospaced
- i'm going to agree with you on this one... seen some of the shittiest work ever in $500 cases...showpony

@mono - I'm not looking for places to buy a fancy case. Just interesting ways of presenting the work on paper in printed form.
Perhaps a few different ways of binding just looking for some jumping off points etc.

I had possible employer tell me to come back with a printed portfolio once they didn't want to see shit on my iPad - they looked at my website and they wanted printed work though they didn't express this ahead of time.

Y'know, if that's the case, you might want to consider investing in something like a blurb book, but upgrade to nicer stock (matte) and remove their branding. Keep it simple and a hardbound book is impressive.
