Anyone used http://www.google.com/webfonts
?
Do these work on IE, Firefox, and Safari?
Any drawbacks to using them? I'm not sure how this whole web font thing works.

I have not used webfonts but think I will start using them, cufon is getting a bit fiddly.
Also worth checking out the ywft webfonts as there is no subscription apparently.

Affordability???
We offer five levels of WebFont pricing to address any situation, starting with a 1x Basic price that covers 50,000 monthly pageviews--more than enough for most independent web design situations. Pricing is based on the standard desktop font license.

Google's CDN is a bit iffy at times. Which can lead to long page loads as your browser is trying to pull down the font file.
Not sure if it's kosher to DL the font files and store them on your local server. You'd want to grab them via a few different browsers, as google returns different CSS depending on the browser. (woff for chrome/ff, eot for IE, etc.)

i have been using them for ages now and never have I had a problem. i guess the only one is when i am trying to work locally on my machine without being connected to the internet. All WebFonts get replaced by default ones which may hamper the design work a little bit. Not a massive issue on the grand scale, yet it can get annoying a bit.

I used google fonts on my website and they work great, no problem with IE browsers from what I can tell IE 7,8,9, very easy to implement too.

Nice use of Google fonts, if you click on the text it takes you to the relevant Google Font page:

In my experience they work very well
