I'm interested in people's experiences owning an Incase laptop or messenger bag (craftsmanship, durability, etc.) How do they compare to say a Timbuk2?
I'm looking at their:

both vendors are located in san francisco .. both target a very specific consumer demographic.
timbuk2 is offers a larger product spec in terms of shape colour and fabrication.
incase offers a streamlined product where everything is inside their cases in a more form fitting environment.
depends on what you are using the cases for and what amount of wear and tear usage with travel you also will use in your lifestyle.
both brands offer strong constructions in their packs and use ballistic nylons in their higher ended bags with superior stitching and storage functions then their lower product lines.
- if you are going for timbuk2.. i suggest you also check out Keen bags - http://www.keenfootw…e_p
- The founder of Keen, own Timbuk2. Same bag production, two different brands.onekid
- never heard of that.. checked it out and saw you were in-correct.e_p
- keen footwear and timbuk2 have nothing to do with one another.e_p
- You are totally incorrect. The owner and founder of Keen, a long time shoe maker for Vans and various companies, bought Timbuk2 way back and blew them up. He also is the money behind Chrome now. I know this first hand.

My Timbuk2 Bag got tattered after a few years of use. The Nylon on the outside was wearing and was getting fuzzy. The interior was cracking, a plastic clasp broke and one of the reflective tags melted off in the hot hawaiian sun. I retired it and use it as my disc golf bag.
My inCase Skate Messenger Mag was twice the price but twice as big and twice as nice. I've been using it for a few years and it's showing no sign of wear.

Been using one of these (http://www.notcot.com/archives... ... Every day for about 4 years and it shows no sign of wear whatsoever... got it for the big plush fake fur macbook pouch and the strap that goes across your chest to hold it in place when on the bike ...
- i've had an eastpack bag i've been carting guitar gear round in for 15 years, and it's similarly indestructible...kingsteven
