i dont know jack about flash other than the 1 class i took back in the day for flash 3 or 4 (its been so long i cant even remember lol)
i have an flv file (video)... i wanna make it into a banner.... need to make an swf that 'contains' the flv file... will 'call' it from my amazon s3 account...
i need to make the whole thing clickable... how would you do this?
- jadrian_uk0
if you dont need flash just grab the .flv and convert it to quicktime(mp4) for example then embeding it and making it clikable it's pretty simple

hmm..... not sure if these ad networks let you use mp4 tho.

or you can possibly have it call the video from your sever. I'm guessing the problem is that they won't let you send over more than a swf.

what is file size of vid?
- dconstrukt0
dbloc - i have the .flv video. its uploaded to amazon s3.... so the way i had it done before was adding the link from amazon into the swf file....
guess i need to figure out how to make the entire thing clickable... and where it goes to.
kingsteven - i have flash cs3
- Ghetto way - Include the video swf thign you use in another swf, with a button layer on top.orrinward2
- dbloc0
new flash file > pull in the video with the flv player component > add a layer on top of that with an invisible button > add code to button.

also wondering if you can change the 0,0, - x,y coordinates in flash that may do it

It is pretty easy to do let me know if this helps
1.Create a new flash AS3 Document
2.On the left where it says properties, set your stage size to the size you need.
3.go file>import>importVideo , Sounds like you already uploaded it to a server so just select the second radio button "already deployed on a web server...." and type in the URL.
4.Now select your controls (FYI the controls are a seperate swf file that will be added to the same directory your working in, the path to them can't change or they won't show up) I would select no controls to make your life easier
5.Create a square the size of the stage
6.convert the square to a new symbol by right clicking on it and selecting "Convert to symbol" make it a button
7. Double click on the symbol and you will see 4 frames named UP, OVER, DOWN, HIT. Drag the dot on UP to the HIT box
8.select your button and under properties name your button something.
9.click outside of the stage area to select nothing and go to window > Actions.
10. write in the code shown here http://snipplr.com/view/9312/
11.click command and return at the same time to see if it worked.you can modify the video options by clicking on the player
I hope this helps.
