Hi guys! I would like to take one day off with my gf and visit some nice place outside the city. Something like ... rent a car, live in the morning and come back home in late evening.
PS: This is not correlate to any S. Valentine bull**

In the spring when it's all warm sunshine you should check out Governor's Island. It's not outside the city, but it's a great place to spend the day. Bring a bike, a picnic, and a camera. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gov…
- I heard it was shut for renovations every day except the weekend this year...

On either Saturday or Sunday there is a fleamarket in Lambertville NJ and a bunch of antique shops across the Delaware River in New Hope, PA. It's a great area that's about 1.5-2 hours away driving but you two would have a great time. There's a ton of restaurants, bars, and you can even do hiking or bike riding along the Delaware if that's your thing. I go all the time with my lady for a day away

Warwick, NY is great..only about an hour outside of the city.
It is also close to Skylands Botanical Gardens in Ringwood, so you could hit that up the same trip.
