Someone else made this comment about it on Huff Post but I thought it was fitting,

Does anyone else get friend requests on Facebook from people at your high school that you never physically knew or never even met? I think it's very strange. I can't think of the last time I cared or thought about people I never even knew.
- Never physically knew? You only friend people you had sex with?ETM
- No, I mean like people that graduated a few years before or after me...mg33
- they were never friends or people I'd ever met. I don't get the "collecting friends" aspect of Facebook in the way some people appear to use it.mg33
- people use it. My stepsister, for example, pilfered my friends list a few years ago and is friends with many of my friends from our schoolmg33
- from our high school that she never talked to, met, knew, or was ever friends with. It's very creepy to me.mg33
- Some people I've "known" in the biblical sense have sent requests.aaux
