lord i feel behind the times....it wasn't that long ago i was actually wondering whatever happened to that Kimble dude....was reading up on him on wikipedia etc....i think i'd remembered some of his sites from back in the day...a few of which were (at the time) pretty interesting design wise....but the sheer ego was hilarious and awesome...sites like Kimvestor ....always wondered what became of him....
i had NO idea he was the dude behind Megaupload....that blows my mind....
and the idea that anon is taking shit down as a retaliation of this?... i guess i can understand that a bit...but on the other hand, i'd always assumed that most actual 'hackers' or ..well....folks smart enough about IT development/security to know 'how' to hack would think that Kimbal dude was a complete wanker and poser.
^ holy shit had no idea it was that guy.
His websites were mental and went on about how rich he was and how much of a hacker he was, they all looked like some kid trying to make a 2Advanced style site at the time
Basically just a story of a fat dodgey dude with a chequered past who stepped over the line one too many times.
I don't condone the shutting down of file sharing sites and believe in content sharing wholeheartedly. The methods he went about it, however, weren't for this community aspect and the sharing of content and knowledge, it was to stroke his ego by "sticking it to the man" and ultimately benefitting his back pocket.
horrible site, who cares
they came for megaupload....
Is that the site that would turn off the player after watching 72 minutes of a film?
