Ok, I'll take another angle on this.
Does anyone know where I can download previous firmware updates?
2.0.8, 2.0.9 and 2.1.0

Could it be magic lantern?

At work, the office camera is a Mk II and it has that feature. So, there must be a way to do it.
The 60D has this feature, can autofocus in display mode and has the display that can flip around so you can see it from the front. Not bad for a camera that's half the price.
- 60D can do this, for sure. have this at work. could it be the lens you are using??rodzilla

I believe that feature will appear on the Canon 5D Mk III.

My model won't let you zoom in to video while reviewing on the rear display the same way you would images. I noticed the same model at work can zoom in so the video plays full frame.
I tried updating to the most recent firmware 2.1.1 (http://goo.gl/HB9OW) from 2.0.7 but that didn't do it. Was I supposed to upgrade 2.0.8 - 2.1.0 before going all the way to 2.1.1? There's no warning on the canon site.
