I have been given the task to level out the audio for about 15 movie clips. I need to raise some and lower some, so they all play at about the same level. What program is best for this?

i done it in final cut. but there some program with it, only audio stuff.

"normalize" is the term:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aud…any audio/video editor can do this.
i use soundforge (can open video files) 'cause it's quick and easy.

normalize isn't a general setting though right? It only pertains to the highest and lowest levels of that particular clip?

so if I wanted to normalize all clips, I would need to import all of them and normalize them all together? or am I not understanding it?

yes. in soundforge for instance you'd get the profile of the volume levels you want to emulate, then apply that to the rest of your videos.

are these clips all of the same source?
will they be edited into a sequence, or meant for individual playback?

I was hoping for an easier solution. I am attempting in iMovie

If its only 15 or so, I'd extract the audio and bring those files into audition, or the vids themselves if you are ok with / know how to properly re-export vid from there. More control.
