two indesign docs, one small, one large, same ratio.
Small doc is complete, text only, and I want to copy all text areas and paste into the large doc, scaling up the ratio / font size automatically.
Can that be done?

you can group it. copy + paste. then size up.

ah, cmdA transform scale - is there no auto option though?
- you beat me ^craigatkinson
- no auto option. as far as i know.akrok

you can make a box (size as the doc), send to back. then group it with the rest. copy, new doc, paste. size it.

I would do as akrok said. rectangle with the size of the document in the back, group, copy, paste, scale with command+shift keys pressed.

Ridiculous...rectangles and transforming...it's called using Character Styles and Paragraph Styles, guys. Get with the times, sheesh.
- you're the ridiculous one with those statements. If it's a one page resize, I wouldn't touch the character styles.ESKEMA
- Just resize the fucker and it's done. after that, select character / paragraph style and choose redefine style. Done.ESKEMA
- get with the times and stop fuckin around...ESKEMA
- copy pasting text and clicking a style is WAY more efficient than resizing every page like a fucking internmonospaced
- who said there's more than a page? I'm assuming there aren't more than one.ESKEMA
- I assumed there was because he wants something "auto" for all the "text areas."monospaced

Beste way IMO:
Place guides
Layout > Fit to page (with the right options)
Change doc dimensionsThat's all.
- you mean Layout Adjustment? The type will not scale that way.ESKEMA

If you've created style sheets across the two documents that have the same names, when you copy/paste it will default to the document that you're pasting into.
So, assuming you've got all of your style sheets named the same over the two docs, the type size will adjust automatically. As far as automatic, like others have said: not possible. Even layout adjustment is wonky on its own. Sorry :(.

so, there's two fucking ways to do it. good damn! now, pick one.
