Cutting Mat Mouse Pad.

Today I went to buy a cutting mat to use as a mouse pad. I've got a swanky glass desk and my magic mouse doesn't work with out a pad.
Every mousepad I've used slides around, and I don't want to tape it down. Soooo I figured a cutting mat would do the trick, look cool and work for cutting. I think someone here suggested it to me. I found a nice Alvin self-healing mat at my local art supply store.
Cool story, right, bro?
But, the cutting mat had a sticker on the package that said "Warning: this item contains materials that are known by the State of California to cause cancer, reproductive disorders and reproductive complications. Please wash hands after each use."
I thought I'd share, since I know some of you are using cutting mats as mouse pads.

I get the "oh well, everything causes cancer" argument.
But, not everything has a warning label. This says to me "This product is dangerous enough that someone bothered to force the manufacturer to attach a sticker."
Also, I'd bet that when they studied it's harmful effects they assumed a typical usage amount for a cutting mat. If you're using it as a mouse pad 8-12 hours a day you might be overexposing yourself to it.

nb, did you know that huffing paint can cause certain types of brain cancer but people still paint without proper ventilation, same goes for gasoline and standing by your tank as it fills
did you also know that alcohol can cause cancer? there's a label and everything, same goes for cigarettes, maybe you've heard of them?
don't fret that cutting pad, it may be the only freedom of choice you have left (that was made in china)

I'm not saying I'm afraid of using cutting mats. I'm just suggesting that it might not be the best choice for a mouse pad. I simply don't feel the risk is worth the benefit, considering all the other options that are available.

any Playboy or Hustler Mag works great for a mouse pad.. dont waste your cash on useless items.. when you can have an item to help you fap, read articles.. i mean do your work.

From an Amazon customer review...
***I came back to edit my review. I called the company and asked them about the sticker, and they explained that the sticker was added to ALL Fiskars products once Prop 65 passed in CA. Until they were able to chemically analyze all of their products, the sticker was introduced to comply with the proposition, in case they were to find any carcinogenic components in their products. They assured me that all of their products passed the necessary tests and were found to have NO carcinogenic materials in them, and that many products being sold today still have that sticker on them. I can't verify their statements, but the customer service representative said that it is a common question and that Fiskars realizes the concern the stickers can cause.
Also, when I searched for this, the thread was on the first page...hahaha.
