ebooks for ipad 1010 Responses

Anyone purchasing any ebooks for their ipad?
I'd like to start buying digital books instead of collecting piles of paper.
Apple seems to be charging full price (vs. Amazon and Google's regular 30%), which is just ridiculous (should be cheaper, given no printing costs).
Anyone have experience buying/uploading?
I am particularly interested in photography books (so lots of color).

there's like one thing in newsstand that interests me. paper is king, for now. plus, paper means we can eventually rid ourselves of those lazy forests.

i have a ton of books on mine.
you can download book torrents. pdf or ebook formats work. plug in your ipad, drag the books/pdfs onto it in itunes and they'll show up in ibooks.

i like zinio. being able to buy international fashion magazines and pulling swipe digitally is kind of amazing.

there's a certain sadness associated with the way things are headed digitally imo. today's kids will not share the experiences we had, heading out to the local import vinyl/cd shop, odyssey imports r.i.p., smelling the fresh ink perfuming from the wall of new 12s, discovering new music with your hands and via actual face-to-face interaction with other music headz. it was so exciting to troop home with a fresh stash of 12s and overpriced german import cds... now, it's click, drag, listen, chicken mcnuggets. wipes tear.

Looks like Amazon has come up with good subscription deals with magazines:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/…
Unfortunately, only available on the Kindle Fire. Nice precedent Apple has set.
