I like it, but I'll stop short of telling anyone it's good. It's like Perry doing a Satellite Party album, but with the old band instead of Nuno et al...

pitchfork only gave it a 5.0 but that's not going to stop me from liking it. It was in the FMT a week or 2 ago and I've listened to it a bunch since and really like it. But then again I liked Strays. I think it brings me back to my youth when I snuck into seeing them open up for Iggy Pop and I was only about 10 people in the pit during the very early days of Nothing Shocking. It was a life altering experience. Perry wore old welding goggles, a girdle, fist nets and rubber dishwashing gloves. Dave just sat on his amp the entire time almost completely nodding out but still shredding. I Then met Perry and Henry Rollins a few years when I traveled to see them play Ritual De La Habitual in a small club in Cleveland (The Agora I think). Later that night I saw Eric Avery (original bass player) in the hallway and asked him if he wanted to party with me and my girlfriend since I had a 12 pack of beer and a little weed. He declined, god only knows what he had stockpiled at that time.

^ That was too harsh but it's about as good as Strays. Good but no way near as good as the original albums.

Like it. Wish Eric Avery was in the lineup.

Meh. It's ok. Sounds utterly bloodless to me. I am disappoint. One of the commenters at the AV Club review I think pegged it - Eric Avery really made that band work. Without him they haven't done anything of note.
- I'm not sure about that. It sounds like saying Bill Berry leaving REM is what killed them.CyBrainX
- Not at all. Avery's basslines are instrumental to all their best work.TheBlueOne

Can't wait to here it. Best live shows, best party/stoner music ever. Friken love them.
- Caught 'em in July in NYC. They were good if not great. I saw them in '89. Then they were amazingTheBlueOne
- saw them over the summer. took my kid to edgefest. saw jane's, social d, flogging molly, ... and a bunch of shitty bands.johnny_wobble

It's pretty great in its own right. Cant expect them to write notjongs shocking 2....twenty five years later...nor would I want them to. This is a solid record.

I can't stand the 2 above songs. They sound like everything else on modern rock radio - they are missing all the cool and danger they had.

^^ I was going to say Perry stole some of those moves from Mick Jagger but if you put them in sailor suits and add a bubble machine it's looks like this stones video...

Dave Navarro gets under my skin. I preferred them before he had that crappy reality show - Perry's cool.
