Played this on and off over the weekend, can't believe how good it is. This has serious potential to cause me to fail my second year at uni, it just eats time.

I now do this full time, my job is just a hobby I have.

Tossing up... Uncharted 3 or Skyrim? Any suggestions? I have never played an Elder Scrolls game before, but a bit worried I might get a bit lost with all the states/powerups etc? Can you just play this game without having to constantly go to menus and adjust your levels and whatnot?
- yes, they've made it xbox dumb basicly, but fun ;)Weyland

Just finished Arrham City, so looking for a new diversion. I did get a little over the endless side missions in that. But it was a a great ride! Might give Skyrim a go then. Thanks all!

So I installed it, detected my video card settings and set to Ultra. Runs like crap. I set it to High, still not good. I'm still on XP (Bootcamp). Will Win7 64 make a difference in the game performance? I don't want to spend the next 6 months thinking in buying a new machine just for this game... Any insights on how smooth it is for you guys?

^ I'm on the same Eskema, bootcamp seems to slow things down anyway. 27" iMac here.
Best thing to do is set it to ultra, then drop your anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering down to fairly low. If you're on a 27" imac, drop your resolution down to the 1920 (i think) one. That'll help too, you should be able to keep things like draw distance and fades at full.

Disabling anisotropic and antialiasing did the trick. Upgraded to win 7 too. Was to do that already for some time. Running super smooth now. Thanks

tweaking the distance lod settings and opting for the water just to reflect the sky worked for me, runs like butter but needs a little room to load scenery when you dash around on a horse for example

Level 21, and I'm "already" about to face Alduin (for the first time)... Think I'll focus on doing side quests for a while. I hear the main quest line is very short.

Yeah I'm spending time not even doing quests just upping my smithing.

Level 37 here now. Not really done the main quest line. Just thieves guild and dark brotherhood. Both were very good.

So, much fun. Only played long enough to reach level 15 and to the point where I team up with the chick from the blades.
Side quests on this are so much fun. Small tip w/o spoilers - if someone asks you to enter a drinking contest DO IT. It's kind of a waste of time but it's amusing.
- Loved that side quest. It's like the Hangover in Tamriel.digitdaily

This game is unbelievably good. It's super nerdy but so damn fun & epic.
