I built www.bearhug.ca using wordpress and WordPress eCommerce Plugin - WPEC. It was tricky to say the least. I have since played with lemonstand and it looks juicy (excuse the pun) and really solid. And if they are in fact Canadian, I'll probably start the process of using them as that ties in my whole brand message..

Simple? paypal.
With these pre-built e-commerce systems, you will have to build around the carts current structure and may possibly spend a shit ton of time breaking down their html and css to fit the design you had in mind.
Best thing to do if the paypal option isn't enough is to work with a developer. You can get in over your head pretty fast dealing with e-commerce and people's credit cards.
