Yarrrrgh! I'm trying to copy music from my work G5 to my iPhone, AND copy music from my home Mac Book Pro. If I sync the phone with one machine, I can't drop music onto it from my other machines.
I've tried this kid's videoWhich is the same method as this guy,
http://www.andrewgrant.org/2008/…And it's not working....Anyone have any ideas????

I did this a while back, used andrew grant's method and had no issues. Not sure what your specific issue is.. just make sure you backup those itunes files you edit in hexedit, and maybe restore them and just start from scratch!
- How long ago was a while back? A lot of the recent comments on the YT vid say it ain't wirking...stoplying

I do it by keeping my iTunes library on an external drive. You then can hold option while opening iTunes and it will allow you to choose the location of your library. With the external drive, you now have a portable iTunes library. When connecting your iPhone at work or at home it does not know the difference as the library is the same location.

Seriously this is one of the many reasons my next phone is not going to be made by Apple.
I mean seriously... the fact that I can't choose my own fucking ringtone or have a wireless toggle on my home screen, the fact that because I once connected to someone else's computer and now have my contacts split into 2 folders (one of which is empty), the fact that it doesn't cache maps at all (which has made me miss a good few intersections when in a hurry) and don't get me started on the alarm...
the only thing I love about it is the amazing camera and the fact that there are more apps available

- the new Galaxy? is it really better, especially in low light, or does it just have more megapixels?Projectile

@ stoplying: I did this maybe 2 years ago on a 3g. I've since upgraded to a 4, and did not do it to that new device. So I guess it's possible this no longer works.
