good luck to them, or good riddance, hopefully they don't get the Brazilian strain or they're fucked.
Also, I suppose wearing a mask and being responsible will be stigmatised if not outright attacked.
It'd be funny if the conspiracy/right-wing lunatics now see this as the government trying to kill them by telling them to get back to work, everything's normal, carry on while the killer disease rages...and they go full hazmat bunker lockdown lol
- Shocking as it is, this is the state that will turn blue and replace Florida as a hopeful tipping point for Southern sanity.CyBrainX

I'm from Texas and was born there. Been in Chicago close to 20 years now.
I've been watching so many friends celebrate the end of masks down there on FB. It's f'ing pathetic. Still dabbling in the "we can't live in fear" nonsense when wearing a mask has nothing to do with being afraid, and everything to do with simply caring about others and yourself.
I'm flying down there in a couple weeks to visit my dad and stepmom. My dad has dementia and I've not seen him since November 2019. I know I'll do everything possible to keep myself safe while flying, while visiting, etc. They've had their first vaccine shot.
But it just pisses me off that my need to visit is now overshadowed by the fact that a great majority of people will now be careless and self-centered to my potential detriment.

- Same situation. Born and raised in TX, but I've been in CA for over 20 years. It's sad to see the herd of stupidity in TX. This include members of my own familydbloc

- texas is amazing. they tamed the wild west. they'd be a hell of a lot better off if it didn't share a border with the third world wild west.hotroddy
- similar to western australia but doesn't have the luxury of being isolated on an island. quite the opposite of isolation.hotroddy

I don't mind wearing a mask, it's no big deal.

If Texas had a kissing cousin...it would be Florida.

A 13-year-old was driving the pickup truck that struck a van in West Texas in a fiery collision that killed nine people, including six members of a college golf team and their coach, a National Transportation Safety Board official said Thursday.
The child and a man traveling in the truck also died.
