I am just trying out Concrete 5, I have been a wordpress/joomla/silverstripe for some time. I just wondered if anyone knew much about it, or any limitations that anyone has found?
So far it seems easy to use for simple sites, and easier to build templates for. But just wondering if I use it for a project if I am going to run into problems anywhere? Any help or opinions would be interesting to hear.

Well I don't know, just looking into other simple cms at the moment for future sites for clients. From looking at concrete I guess it is best suited for small HTML sites that need to be managed by clients. I guess I am looking for any advice from people who gave used it on anything I should be aware if i choose to use it in the future. any limitations, problems or tools it is lacking

http://www.qbn.com/topics/636901…Let me know if you have specific questions. It's hard to identify limitations unless I know your specific needs. It's one of the best content management systems, in my opinion, but there are always issues with smaller things. Just differences between CMSs. It's not really meant for very large sites or stores, but it certainly has the capability of working well for most sites.

Keep in mind: In general, you can grab different types of information from the database and put into a block / area on your site, but if you want a store or any extensive features (like complex image galleries, different e-commerce payment options, extensive Google Maps; basically a better version of any of the core features), you'll have to buy it from their store. Take a look at their web site and visit the marketplace ( http://www.concrete5.org/marketp… ) to see the plugins. Read about the core features, and see if you need anything beyond that. If you do, you may have to pay a bit for it.

Hi jaline, thanks for the info, I'll look into it in more detail and have a play. It certainly seems easier than wordpress allowing more option changes on individual page changes. I think the limitations for what I want to do on individual projects will come out through trial and error
