None of the above have the codec for it... I play it in VLC.
Do I have to get the specific codec to make it work in AE / PR (any Adboe product)?

codecs go in Library/Quicktime. Codec will be available after you reboot AE/PR/...whatever uses quicktime.

Argh, these are all really hard to use for me. I remember I and O for FC, that is all though.

I assume there's some other nifty plugin that will tell you the specific codecs used or some fancy way to do this?

I wish I had retard iMovie at times like this.

open in quicktime player or vlc and hit command-i, there you should see the codec you need.

Installed Perian and it appears and works.
In FC... lined up tracks to video...
Now 'export' (and at what settings?) I just want a 960px / 16:9 video with this music over it.
    Or 'go to compressor'?

1.8gb for 8 mins... this is a joke.
How do you set the 'stage' size?
    I'd do a tutorial, but I just can't deal.

    • Youtube will compress that shit for you ;)Amicus
