I'm having a LOT of trouble putting eyes on the simplest character. I finally got something working iwith flat projection mapping (as opposed to UVW). Then I looked on the other side to see the eye also mapped on to the back. This is ridiculous.
Is there a way to stop that from happening?

It's not the Side option (front/back/both).

Yes just change "Side" from Both to Front of back

Or for a quick fix just slect your back face and give it another texture

is it possible to see a screenie?

Is there a way to get cubic (or any mapping method) to only project on one side?
Do I have to make my shape editable and use polygon selection areas to map onto?
I tried that and it was pretty ugly. I'll try again.
- yes but select the poly's with the dot you do not want. So the blue will stay evenjasonabc

I've answered my own question. You have to make the thing editable, which I didn't really want to do because I want to animate this thing and I'd rather mess with the spline than set up bones.
I used flat projection mapping with a polygon selection.
Is there a better way than this?

jasonabc, How do you "unwrap UVW"? Can't find anything on that in the googles.
