Just wondering what plugin is being used or how to achieve this transition. It looks like what I use in Final Cut from time to time, Coremelt plugin.
3secs in...
Thanks!

It looks like a film burn / film light bleed clip overlayed a simple wipe... of course with text n stuff flying around....
Probably achievable sans plugins

...like, fade your frames and add a transparency layer or so for the atmosphere

^ yup.
I have a bunch of 16mm frame burn & light flicker movs that simply overlay/screen between cuts.
there is prob a plugin for this though.

I'll see what results I get with the film burn method, thanks!

where can I get those? Any ideas? I was looking for some myself. I have one I use in low res, but I would love an HD one

The one I have is 504x284 :(
I usually scale it up, but you can see artifacts, if anyone wants it I can upload it to mediafire or one of those.is 3 seconds long, in after effects I usually select "Re interpret" and under repeat I put 99, so it loops constantly

these are also pretty easy to make in AE. take a light and aim it just off the edge of you composition. adjust the falloff. place a wiggle expression in the intensity and POI fields. make it dance. precomp (or render and import image sequence). place over footage using add, screen, soft light, etc.
- using the lights is from an old tutorial. i'll try to find the link. if i remember correctly it also had a tip for using particular.Chief

here's a free preset that will help get you started on the effect. You should take some of the other tips here and try combining with this effect. Pretty easy to recreate.
