- Been v quiet so farfaxion
- yeah wtf. Where is he?nthkl

- very quiet?? he's in 5th spot at the mo, and as 'CanHas' said he's a climber. the tour has hardly started..jimzy

Buster, it's not a spectator sport, it's a participator sport. As in... most cycling fans are cyclists themselves. In contrast, you won't find that many football fans actually play football. Cycling is not set up in an arena and it isn't meant to be a show or entertainment. But yes, 95% of the flat stages are boring. Yet when the mountain stages arrive, I can't look away. There's some great drama on those slopes.

If you havn't already seen it, one of the most insane accidents i think i've seen in cycling. What a fucking idiot driver. The guys are lucky to be alive really.
- slappy0
Surely the driver will be held accountable for that, almost looked intentional.
The stages seem more cramped with cars than usual this year?
- lobstarr0
well... i dunno what the driver was thinking.. BUT.. i can see why he sped up in panic and maybe made the choice he did....
in his shoes i could see three options:
1] the above - if he didnt swerve that aggressively he may have hit the tree and flipped the car onto the road.. (im no expert though)
2] drive right into the tree
3] drove through the fences
again we could say he should have never got into that situation.. but dont get me wrong, he should be dealth with appropriately.

The picture of that guy's shredded ass makes me nauseous.

There is a documentary out there about a team from about 2003 or 2004 and shows what these guys go through to train, nutrition and how long they actually spend on their bikes EVERYday.
I will look for it and put a note up if I find it.
One of my favorite parts is watching them eat breakfast, which consists of a saladbowl sized portion of spaghetti and coffee. Then when they are done riding, most of them crack a can of coke.

The couple that I've seen are Hell on Wheels and Chasing Legends.
Hell on Wheels follows T-Mobile, mostly Rolf Aldag and Erik Zabel.
Chasing Legends follows Columbia HTC and Cavendish & Hincapie. Plenty of Jens Voigt too :)
- it may have been hell on wheels. I just love how these guys are total machines.capn_ron
