- i've got an object with a gradient, when i rotate with bounding box the direction of grad is not rotating accordingly. like its got a global behaviour?
- rotation with rotate tool is fine. could just use this but handing over file and don't want any issues.
- my other objects with grads are not behaving like this.
any guesses? something buried in appearances? i've ungrouped and regrouped.

try making it into a 'compound object' ... apple+8

d-rek wins.
i broke down my object into ungrouped pieces, released all compound paths and then recreated compound paths - working fine now.
but sucks i have to reposition grads.
seems like appearances and compound paths have become extra pissy over the years with CS4 and CS5.

Can't you just select "Transform Both" from the drop down?
- oh, ignore this...monospaced

- well, did you at least try it?monospaced
- actually don't know what drop down you are referring to?
horton - Transform palette. You can have transforms affect the shape, the pattern or "both." Really nifty.monospaced
