if this is the band, Lil' Band O' Gold, whose concert you said you attended, then i'm pretty sure EVERYBODY in the audience was old.

I hate that people just film and take pics with there phone...i feel the show is for your eyes and ears....
any pic from that far with your phone is going to look like a blurry sea of lights and silhouettes anyway, just enjoy the show.

As a photographer who has made a fair buck over the years shooting rock and roll, from a room full of empty chairs to RATM and 40,000 people, I often fucked up photos 'cause I was liking the music so much.
I cannot believe how folks show up just to blast some photos/video, talk with their pals and pretty much not pay attention to the band who is up in front of them. I cannot think of a worse way to spend and waste your money and miss that moment you apparently don't give a shit about. I'd rather you stayed home.
As for cunticle comment's about "who cares if someone takes a photo" - well, I do, for a whole host of reasons.
As for solving hipster/yuppie fucks who won't shut up, well, there's a reason folks wear DM's... a kick in the shins, stomp on the toes, followed by a toothy smile and an apology tends to work real well. =)

in my experience, london gig crowds are often rubbish and generating bad vibes.

Not to sound all emo... but two of the best shows I've ever been to were Sunny Day Real Estate back in college, eyes closed practically the entire show.

Extremely relevant:
- I think Jeff Tweedy is awesome - but this drives me nuts... stop whining.nosaj
- I think he's spot-on. I think most of the yappers hadn't ever even thought about the fact that they are a part of the concert, it's notmikotondria3
- ..just an event that they stand around at. This is why he's the artist and that's part of the art. Fucking learn to not be yourself.mikotondria3

an all too often and over used term here but...
if you don't like it leave.
what is with the self righteous expectations and the desire to impose your will on others?
question the motives of others until you're blue in the face or do something proactive with your life instead of complaining your night out listening to music in public was interrupted by the lives of others.
the performer was paid either way. not everyone may be the same fan you are.
- because i PAID to see the show, that's why. if these selfish fucks are so bored THEY should leavehans_glib
- fine - the selfish fucks should leave then, before I invoke the DM to the nuts/twat solution... =)adumbratesly

LISTEN TO METAL!
PROBLEM SOLVED
- No one 'listens' to metal.
People just turn it on and stay nearby.

I hate when people talk during concerts but I was at that Jeff Tweedy show and he was a complete prick. People weren't too loud but he actually also complained about clanking beer bottles. Go play a coffee house or theater they don't serve alcohol at not a BAR.

I was at W.A.S.P recently I didnt hear anyone talking. They were throwing stuff at the band, but the band didnt give a shit, they were egging people on and laughing about it.

1st world problem

It's rude but is universal and isn't going to change. Problem is that there are two groups of people...one who really love the band playing, who are there to listen and take it all in; and then those who are either there to be seen or who have been invited by the first group or others there to be seen. None of these people care about what's happening on stage, this is their social time. It's very hard to appreciate a band (especially a small, unknown band in a small venue with not amazing sound), hear lyrics, etc. you've never heard of.
- but if they would all just shut up and listen, they would get it, why don't they understand?!registe
