i only used it twice now, but yes. it's easy to toggle and stop/pause and go.
before that i had the 4GB ipod, white connector, on the arm band. well, i don't care for music when running. so it was over kill. then i lost the white connector so there fore i got the band instead.

What is the functionality of the band itself like? How well does it work only having one button, ie. when you're running and you want to toggle the view is it easy to do, or do you sometimes pause it without wanting to etc?

Yeah, try calibrating it with something like http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ around your hood or the treadmill. But they're usually only off by like .05-.50 miles after my longest runs.

You need to calibrate it.

yeah, i got the pouch. left foot.
i ran like 9 minutes, said 0.19 miles, which must be sooooo wrong. i do 1 mile on the treadmill in 9 minutes.
probably have to do that 800 meter walk first. calibrate it.

I don't think it matters, mine is at the top, but I'm going to guess that if you slide that sensor on your sock, it might not make a difference either

If you don't have nike+ brand shoes, you'd use a sensor pouch ($5 on amazon) that would interweave into the laces sitting just on top of your laces on your left foot. Make sure the apple logo is readable while you stand. That means it's in the correct position.

yo, i am attaching the sensor on my shoe laces.
now, should it be at the bottom or at the top?
