Been here since 2005, I don't want to leave. This is the only site I visit every single day without fail.
Please post your suggestions for QBN in this thread in an attempt to alleviate spammers, dipshits, trolls and knock-off Nikkes.
In a hope someone will listen to us; be realistic with your suggestions. Vote next to the suggestions you like in the usual +1 manner.

Close QBN to open registrations.
There's enough of a good community here... why not?- STUPID ideamonospaced
- It's not stupid at all.meffid

I share you pain, but this is probably the millionth time someone starts a thread like this for the same reasons, and people ask for/vote for the same things every time, and it never goes anywhere. Ever.
Hate to be a cynic, but there it is.
- < My vote goes here.meffid
- I suppose we could all hang out in the FB group instead, but then I'd have to learn all your real names, and I've got a memory like a sieve.Continuity
- ... like a sieve.Continuity

My suggestion is to ban the IP addresses of the repeat spammers and trolls.
The spammers and trolls have recently taken over the QBN website this year. I am guessing that there are no more moderators except for the occasional visit by one of the QBN owners.
- I would be more than happy to moderate this website, just sayin.utopian
- Frankly, I'd even go so far as to IP range-ban all of China, after all this.Continuity
- that idea seems a little totalitarian –there are a couple of good guys on here from ChinaAmicus
- Yea banning china is rather ridiculous :-Pset
- no ban from china.. i found newstoday because QBN WORKS IN CHINA!!e-pill
- every news site is censored but Newstoday.. it worked!!!e-pill

Here's a thought:
Allow QBNers to get together and do a complete redesign, functional overhaul and clean-up of QBN, and then we hand you the files.
Smacks of crowd-sourcing, yeah, but at least we can actually _help_ make the online community we want, yeah?
- I would love to contribute...utopian
- So would I, frankly.Continuity
- Me threeset
- might aswell just make our ownmoldero

Ability to block users. Although I am certain that I would probably be have some users block me for some of my non-sense that I respond to here...

Look, QBN owners/gods/leader types, here's how you do it:
1) Gather up the wish list of the most reasonable requests from all of the threads like this one, and create a functional spec/document for the new version of QBN;
2) You invite regulars who are IA/UI pros to do up wireframes, and the rest of QBN votes for their favourites;
3) Repeat process for front-end design based on the wireframes;
4) A group of both front-end and back-end developers now get together and code the new site from the winning wireframes and PSDs.
5) Launch new QBN site that incorporates years of input from the community, and well as with a new team of mods; everyone is happy and (more or less) troll- and spam-free.
So, what do you say, QBN?
- Do we really need a new site?meffid
- The design is a bit dated, and functionally it might be necessary to implement many of the requested features.Continuity
- Think of it as pulling on a fresh, clean pair of boxers at the start of the day, and of how good that feels.Continuity
- I don't wear any... but I see your point.meffid
- I don't mind the design, some functionality could be added, vimeo etc.meffid
- < thisutopian
- I guess my only worry would be that doing this would be like waiting for a Valve game to get released. We'd need to stay focussed.Continuity
- ... focused, and not drag our heels, as much as possible.Continuity
- Past experience on the QBN book and sketchbook says... it would be worse than Valve.meffid
- Fuck it, I'd still be up for it.Continuity
- Also, it would give a chance to do a mobile/touch-friendl... site at the same time.Continuity

- +1 (I still like the design)
Fuck valve, long live vulva!...oey

wider reading pane to allow larger images. "recent pics" and potd thread look silly @ 500px, how bout 800 at least? Text can still stay narrow, I don't like text that runs all the way across the screen.
Larger images somehow.
kthnx

Community based moderation.
Vote up & vote down on PV & PC.
10 thumbs down = post is hidden (but still accessible)
25 thumbs down = post is deleted
50 thumbs down = post is deleted & user gets some sort of time based banor something like that...
- This isn't a bad idea at all, sir.Continuity

1. Anonymous mods. We all know a few people here that would make good mods, but keep it anonymous so none of the drama surfaces.
2. Public Choice rules. Limited to one post per day per user. User minimum of 6 months of contributing to Broadcast. Give anon mod ability to delete posts, and remove clutter. I never use PC now, but I would if I thought it was quality content.
3. Hot threads in Broadcast get colored.
4. It's been said before. IP ban the cock shiners.
5. Community based relevancy, rather than moderation. If people can up vote relevant replies to a topic, people would make a stronger effort to contribute something useful.

I have a suggestion for QBN, that they ignore all these suggestions
self righteous bunch of whiny twats with more expectation than sense

KARGO is a blacklisted word.
FFFFOUND should be as well.
