My mates and I went to the Heineken museum and met some nice American girls, sat and got drunk there with the free beers. Said it was our birthdays and the nice man kept giving them away. We then all got stoned and went to see that new Planet of the Apes and drank beers in the cinema, then all got chucked out for causing a ruckus. Then we went to some club the girls had heard about. It was ok. This was written in 2001 incase you're wondering.

go directly to zandvoort and hang out at the beach all day then come back to amsterdam and go to some bars and then go clubbing.

I live at the bottom of the Jordaan, which ios a pretty cool little area. Somewhat away from the center (which gets rid of most annoying tourists), but still Amsterdam-y feel.
Rent a bike from MacBike or something to get around... get some fries w/ mayo here: manneken pis, hit a outdoor drinking spot (pretty nice right now), get some beers, then hit a coffee shop for weed since everyone visiting loves that.
People seems to love Dam sq too, but it's always a bit crazy for me. How long are you here for?
- Where r u right now?jfletcher
- thanks dude... neiwmark square, here for a few months, friends just got in.... playing tourist guide now.dconstrukt

How many Amsterdam threads do we already have in QBN?!
Just wondering...Boat cruise! I haven't done that and have to before I go.
- Wasn't NT/QBN started by an Amsterdammer?Continuity
- I don't know. I thought it was eitheroey

guess its a good place to be? ppl here are super nice, not like the states...
- jfletcher0
people are generally nice, but takes longer to build up good friends is what I'm told. I haven't been here for long either. So far I really like it. Bike to work... moving to a new place next month next to work, so it'll be really easy! Trying to learn some Dutch (I'll be here for a quite some time). Glad I made the move. For me, I'm just doing normal stuff. Figuring out grocery stores, food, local places for beers.... this weekend I'm gonna try to hit up a heavy metal bar near the center and going to a rock climbing place.
Just get out a lot when you can. esp for summer when it's nice!

My favourite thing to do when I was living there was to find a nice quiet café somewhere in the Jordaan and sit in the sun with a drink and read.
- you're a hipster?oey
- LOL nope.Continuity
- All the hipsters hang out in De Pijp anyway.Continuity
- ah! ok then, thanks for the info. I will try to avoid that area.oey

Oh, also not to be missed is Albert Cuypstraat market on a Saturday morning. Great vibe.

too little and too many people
- True about little; the entire city centre could probably fit in the same area as Shoreditch.Continuity

In almost 5 years, I've never seen anything from DELTA.
All I can say I've been sleeping...Here they have a strange street cred concept.
It's not important at all.
But here, they make it up. I'm not saying it's DELTA's case.
I've seen international Street Art exhibitions with Dutch artists claiming they are welll known in the street...right.
Maybe over here...
And all I see from them over here are some stencils in these legal wood walls, or some stickers...You got real good street art and graffiti here, some are big names, but most of them are just wannabes with good contacts and good money to produce regular shit in a massive way.
Here "they" use Andy Warhol's Factory concept to produce stencil on canvas then they hang it in a wall and say it's a street art exhibit...It's really weird for me, but it's ok, people are free to do as they wish.

go check out the massive public library, its an amazing place.. and i cant stand libraries.. its right behind centraal..
failing that, google qbn for the other "im going to amsterdam" threads which seem to pop up around this time each year

Experience the wonders of an OD.
Given your rude, racist and misogynistic bile here,
you sound like a deserving candidate!:)
