Hi...
Ermm this may sound like a stupid question, but where has the "install theme" tab in WordPress admin panel gone? Is it no longer available - and everything needs to be done manually via FTP?
Google is proving fruitless - most articles seem outdated or inadequate.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

appearance -> themes -> install themes?

i installed a new theme less than 20 min ago - it's where it always is, as said above: appearance > themes > install theme - then hit "activate"

Unless I'm completely dim/blind, both of which are a possibility

domacle, try clicking on the theme. You should get a pop-out window and there should be a small button that says "install"

I got the theme from themeforest. And when I search through wordpress it's not listed :/
- did you upload it correctly?ThePublics
- You usually get an option to upload the zip. This is normally under an 'Install' taborrinward
- ive only ever used FTP, never had any problems.ThePublics

Ftp it to your wordpress / wp-content / themes folder.
Refresh your themes page in your browser. Your theme should then be available.
- Unzip it first!Centigrade

Is there a way to upload without FTPing?
If not, I'll sort out hosting.

Sorry for the bump. I'm going through the process of installing wordpress on my hosting and it's asking me for the following:
# Database name
# Database username
# Database password
# Database hostI'm completely new to this (as you can probably tell). Where can I find this information?
- your hosting company. do you have a database set up?WhiteFace

It just might be easier (hosting dependant) if they have Softalicious installed. Basically in your control panel for your hosting there'll be a ton of icons. One of them might be softalicious... click on it and it'll bring you to where you can install wordpress with one click.
