Get a what.cd account, it's like being on iTunes only everything is free and catalogued better.

cool, thanks, am liking grooveshark, wish it had a collaborative playlist feature and a free standalone (without subscription) but can't complain!

I dunno... the what.cd splash screen kinda freaked me out...
"You've stumbled upon a door where your mind is the key. There are none who will lend you guidance; these trials are yours to conquer alone. Entering here will take more than mere logic and strategy, but the criteria are just as hidden as what they reveal. Find yourself, and you will find the very thing hidden behind this page. Beyond here is something like a utopia - beyond here is What.CD.
This is a mirage."

still in beta stage, a mate of mine is part of the team that's putting this together and it's actually a lot of fun. Almost like a mix of spotify and last.fm

Spotify is banned at my workplace (our servers see it as peer to peer and thus block your internet access for a day or more).
So I've been using grooveshark which is great – no ads at all, just music, and pretty decent selection. But what was annoying me was that it isn't a desktop app, so I can't skip tracks/pause/play using the F keys of my mac keyboard.
But now I've found a cheap desktop app called Musicality:
http://industriousone.com/it acts as a desktop app for Grooveshark, LastFM and Pandora, I've found it great, not sure why anyone would pay for spotify given this setup.

Just pay for Spotify, it is leagues above the rest. I get pretty in to the more obscure side of music and the amount of stuff on Spotify is staggering, second only to blogs (or torrents, but dudes still use them???) LIke, there is stuff on there that your only option in owning it would be to illegally download, or search the internet for weeks and maybe a vinyl copy might pop up, maybe...

I read somewhere, pandora removed the listening cap for free users.
