I saw this ad this morning and just had to laugh, there is so much wrong with it.
Windows trying to appeal to photographers, whether amateur of professional. just look at the image, the old film cameras in the foreground, the plate of biscuits, the flight cases.
Who is this Harry fellow? they couldn't even get a real photographer to endorse it? How many people do you know that use Windows Live gallery to view and edit photos?

haha looks like an Apple ad

- the minimalism of it reminds me Apple campaignjadrian_uk
- minimalism? It's an extremely cluttered shot with three logos and shit type in every corner. Ugly as shit.monospaced

Notice I never mentioned apple in my post, I was just amazed at how fake and unbelievable that image looks. if you're going to create a campaign around real people "designed for individuals" then why not at least get some real people involved

I agree. It's total rubbish.

he looks like he would smell like sweat, stale tobacco and strong cologne
- I'll bet his apartment smells of rich mahogany.ian
- he is so manly..autoflavour
- he's so manly he doesn't even use sex panther. He actually has a live panther locked in his bathroom.ian
- One squirt of hot panther piss and the ladies go wild.ian

I'm amazed its a new ad. The styling of it looks like something from the 90's. Perhaps thats its appeal, get some old school photographers to get down with the new technology that all the kids are using these days.
- autoflavour0
its clear to see its target audience..
40-60 year olds, who always secretly aspired to be a National Geographic photographer .. and who now, in their older age have money to burn and time to burn it in..
people who aspired to be rugged, adventurous, cultured, professional.. lone wolf kind of people..
people who would like to think that they would one day go to africa just to take photos..

"Who is this Harry fellow?"
Who's Harry?
Harry's the guy next door. Just a guy next door.
How do I know? Like you mentioned:"just look at the image, the old film cameras in the foreground, the plate of biscuits"
So he doesn't own a DSLR. He is old. He probably just enjoy taking pictures. Like the millions out there this software appeals.
"they couldn't even get a real photographer to endorse it?"
Why? He's probably an amateur. He's Harry goth dammet. The photo-snapping Harry next door. As such he probably prefer a very simple solution to edit the pictures he gets back on a disc from the photoshop after his sessions. And...
"How many people do you know that use Windows Live gallery to view and edit photos?"
... probably do not want to pay extra for the more simple, standard services if it's already integrated and free in the operating system.
Following the link on the pic you posted, looking through the package, it seems that the bundle isn't bad for what it is.

You and I won't use it but for the gazillion windows users I think it's a step in the nicer direction. Seems easy enough to use for most.
- This software won't appeal to someone without a DSLRmonospaced

An automatic boob detection for my images would be nice to make them Facebook compatible (put a star on them or something).

This is like complaining about hipsters... You are a LOOSER by simply starting to complain. Not necessary because the subject of your complain is not bad but because your life is so pathetic that it warrants you to start complaining about pathetic subjects.
- yes true they complain about imagery thinking is everythingjadrian_uk
- haha.Iogout

who cares.....can't believe I even clicked on this... but whatever....
Looks like an ad for Columbia Sportswear.... don't know any money-making photographers who wear those vests either... ugh(!)
... an nobody uses those metal edge flight cases anymore, too much extra weight charge

Ok my major gripe is...
Who the hell would work in an "office" like that?
Monitor and keyboard stacked haphazardly on top of boxes? In a garage with books and papers and shit everywhere? Dim lighting?
I mean look how much that dude would have to hunch over from his chair to be able to view the monitor straight-on and the correct angle.
The ergonomics are just off the chart god-awful, or gawful as I call it.
- And that plate of food is going to fall over any second now.nocomply

i like how they put all four pieces of shit in the each corner, yes.
stay there. hah.

I think he is a good personification of their software. I think the ad is bang on.
