    Description:
Green Charge Networks, powered by The Prosser Group, is looking to expand its development team. We are looking for a hands-on, expert developer with web and/or enterprise background who has successfully deployed mission critical applications. This is an onsite position in DUMBO Brooklyn on a full-time, salary basis.

    Responsibilities:

5+ years of Java/J2EE ? why do you post here dude?, if you're looking for this kind of profile post in a java or specialized forum, you must be a troll.

  • vaxorcist0

J2EE is a strange thing for here.... and J2EE != startup, it's usually used by Enterprizes with TONS of time and money, and armies of people who go to endless meetings and plan FOREVER before they do ANYTHING.... not startups....

I figured if there was anybody here who knew anyone who would be interested they could pass the info on. That's all.

A Troll??? Really me? I've been a member since 2002. Come on!
I was just trying to help people out.

    • things here have changed my friend. children infest this place with pics and gifs not thoughtlogi

Don't mean to be mean..... just that the ad reminds me of the non-tech people looking for tech people ads that alienate tech people.... why? Because they're looking for buzzwords m ore than a mindset... If you want a programmer to like your offer, you might word it like:

We've got a bunch of suits with buzzword compliance on their minds who've written a job description, but we'll give it to you once we're sure you can deal with it and you're sure you want to work with us. The project is very interesting, the work environment is very open to your suggestions and very unlike a bunch of cube-farm-idiots you've been stuck with before.

We're a startup, we'd like to hear from smart Java programmers who are really into working for alternative energy startups, not just the usual banking-and-crap stuff where the best minds of your generation have wasted their talents.

    • see what i mean? they judge everything.logi
    • guilty as charged.... no offense taken even if it was meant... I'm just a programmer who's had too many cube-head gigs...vaxorcist
    • I'm interested and I can't even code Java..
      mikotondria3
    • it's too hard to say thanks for offering your opportunity here i guess.logi
    • whatever... but I mean that these "generic" job descriptions are often a sign of suit-driven office mindset...vaxorcist
  • jadrian_uk0

Don't get your point, go directly where the people are and you'll find a good developper.

    • he's obviously trying to support the qbn scene as a long time member and all you can tell him is fuck off. so strange.logi
    • not really... the description can be re-written so it doesn't tell programmers to fuck off....vaxorcist
    • saying it like a friend who's telling a friend he has mustard on his shirt....vaxorcist
    • No love lost. I should have preempted the post with an explanation.Q

Without a doubt this is a suit driven job description but that is what was passed on to me. It is a real company (start-up) looking for a Software Developer. My wife asked me to pass this info around so I did. I am not a developer so I don't know those forums.

    • thank you for offering your opportunity herelogi
    • No ProblemQ

no offense meant... sorry if it sounded that way....

The company is a green energy startup, a VERY interesting thing for a programmer compared the the usual cube-farm full of beaucratic stuff where you dedicate your life to optimizing algorithms to extract slightly more money from some financial fee structures....

stackoverflow.com may be a good place to post too....
