http://www.qbn.com/microkorg/ "Somehow I don't think that most of the people who've left comments aren't usual visitors to the finance pages. Dumbf*cks!"
Double negative, which if read correctly implies you do think they are usual visitors to the financial pages, and you have the gall to call anyone a "Dumbf*ck" in the same statement, priceless! btw... microkorg/animatedgif... same person, WEAK

Same old same old. Is there really anything new? We just see the news daily/instantly now, whereas there wasn't much info available about what was going on across the world decades ago.
The wealthy are the power, always have been. It is worse than ever, for sure, but I don't see how anything will change. Why should it? Sure, people are pissed at CEO's making 100mil a year, and there will be changes, but it'll be subtle.
Dunno, generally speaking we can't afford an internal war (like duh is suggesting). Corps/gov't are keeping gas prices down (look at pricing compared to Europe), and while it makes me sick thinking of the greed and excessive wealth growth at the top, at the expense of us middle class, I would rather have this than a civil war.
The world moves on, capitalism, like Darwinism, will adapt to the markets. The strong will survive and the US will be part of that strength for at least a few generations (even if we move down the list). Adapt or die, as they say.
- I guess as long as theres profits to be made they won't let our system completely break down?duhsign

usa will adapt. prob going to be massive social upheavals and some crzy chaos...I think just about everyone understands by now that the privileges of the few and powerful and the decisions of evil men are our main downfall. I honestly could see the country split and war among the states. call me crazy but in my eyes there has been a war being waged for decades now, corporations against the people...they hi jacked our govt. they gouge us on gas and anything else the can. they are poisoning us with their products. I would say the war started with the cigarette companies...as long as we are under the corpo duress I think you can expect to see the spiral continue.
- there's no war, they already wonscarabin
- we're addicted to oil, and the owners of the oil own everything elsescarabin
- mmm, i think the war has just begun, when the people finally fight back it will get ugly...duhsign
- we have plenty of weapons...think militias of the people versus private corpo army...duhsign
- another great depression and its game on...already got a little taste the last 3 years.duhsign
- i don't think that fight will ever be fought with weapons. their weapon is our need for goods, and we will just continue giving them money and powerscarabin
- them money and power. our best defense is individual self-reliance. make our own goodsscarabin
- find alternative ways to fill our needs without giving them anythingscarabin

Bill talked for quite a while, very funny at times, he also blamed our political culture, especially the cable news/web/congress circle of trivial fights over insanely small issues when we're totally missing the big picture things like this....

I saw Bill Clinton speak at an event recently, he said in part that by trying to NOT stomp all over the place, the US remained up on its position during the 90's.... he was very aware of this, implicity blaming W and Cheney's short-sighted gov-is-the-problem policies, especially their huge tax breaks for the rich which helped to wreck the govt's ability to do things...
