Why on Earth was Arya Stark just walking around town?? How could she not know blondie would come after her and that *that* was exactly how it would happen?
A show loses credibility when its characters behave unbelievably, uncharacteristically stupid. This was something straight out of Walking Dead. "Hey Lori, where's Carl?"
If this wasn't just horrible writing/storytelling, Arya deserved to get stabbed, but really, it felt like the former.
- I'm not sure where that's headed, but lots of people think that was actually Jaquen.noneck
- ^ That would certainly explain why he/she was just strolling around town...MondoMorphic
- It sure seemed like Arya knew at the end of the previous ep, when she was clutching needle in the dark. That whole scene seemed off.Nitrus
- http://www.thewalkin…sarahfailin
- agree about Arya. she should have been expecting that and hunkered down in some secret place by herself.sarahfailin
- Yeah, everyone saw that coming from a mile away. Shitty writing.section_014

- I mean it definitely looks like a trap of sorts, but she couldn't have known she'd be stabbed in the stomach.dorkKn1ght
- How did you get that image over a week ago??breadlegz
- dorkKn1ght0
how could she have known she would be stabbed there?
Hoping they cop out and show it was a dream sequence. The way she acted when she purchased the travel home and the lollygagging on the bridge... has to be a trap.. haha it is successful, we are talking about it.
- Yeah, it's hard to justify that she would know that. Perhaps after fighting her so many times, she was able to predict?DRIFTMONKEY
- Also Jaqen said don't let her suffer. It was always the Waif's intent to make her suffer, so going for the throat would have been too easy?DRIFTMONKEY
- Regardless, you're right about the way she carried herself. It was not very Arya-like. All her assassin training would suggest she is luring the Waif out.DRIFTMONKEY
- haha how many weeks was she blind and picked on? lol out the window!dorkKn1ght
- pretty much.instrmntl
- yeah... thought this was weird... she's so happy-go-lucky when she more than likely knows there are people looking to kill herPonyBoy

In the scene with the Hound and and the sort of recovering-bandit, AA guy, the conversation was really blunt and so obviously expository. With less obvious information we could have gleaned that AA-guy found the Hound and nursed him back to health-- clearly he was alive.
Altogether I thought AA-guy was one of the worst characters introduced. My friend who read the books said he was not in the books and clearly brought in by the HBO writers. Glad he is dead within 1 episode.
- that whole scene is beyond the books. the Hound is still left for dead in the booksOP31
- I think its setting up the Hound fighting on the side of the faith vs. his brother the mountain who will fight for Cersi. Trial by combat.OP31
- @OP31, not true, they don't explicitly spell it out, but he's on the quiet isle, digging graves for monks. Brienne sort of spots him.Greedo
- http://awoiaf.wester…
see "gravedigger"Greedo - true, but its not clearly stated and is mostly hinted at. Either way I'm glad he's back on the showOP31
- That whole scene was really hokey and predictable.instrmntl
- FYI his name is lovejoykingsteven

YES! THE HOUND!!!!
- He's going to kill his brother. My money's on it.zenmasterfoo
- I don't have money but can I bet with yours?oey

I'm wondering if GG Allin, GG Martin, George Martin, or whatever the name of the GOT author is, thinks about the TV show's direction.
If he sees it at all.

I think you guys are right in suspecting the whole Arya thing. That was very unlike her and it felt like she was baiting to me.
I still think Jaqen is the dance instructor. I think he has been testing her this whole time, I think he wanted her to walk away from killing the actress. That is a true test of who she is right? Are you gonna murder someone that doesn't deserve it? are you that kind of person? Most likely not.
Sending the Waif to kill her would be the end of the test right? She kills her and jaqen reviles he's been the dance instructor the whole time.
But to what end? I don't know.
Whatever the case, theres something weird going on in that whole scene.
I heard someone say it was the Waif wearing Aryas face and Arya killed her??? lol Fuck who knows.
- How would the girl have gotten Arya's face?
Don't they get them from the deceased?Jetserf - haha I don't know, it was a hail marry theory! Don't listen to me.sofakingback
- Plus I saw in the preview the Waif is chasing someone around like crazy. So Everyone will be rocking and rollin next episode.sofakingback
- haha i like this theory that ned stark put her into art school of dancing. Syriol forel = jaqen all along.. too good to be true overshadow the sno revealdorkKn1ght
- That would bve great the dance teacher back then being the same as Jaqen.oey
- How would the girl have gotten Arya's face?

I laughed my ass off during one point in that episode. Now everyone knows why Ian McShane was being such a jerk leaking spoilers about the show to people... he was pissed at being introduced and then killed off in less than an episode, hahah! Now he can go back to making that Deadwood movie I wanna see as Al Swearengen.
The opening scene in the 'born-again' community with him (AA guy) looking up at the tower and nodding approvingly struck me as gratuitous over-acting in a close-up shot, and the rest of the episode didn't really redeem itself from there. The hound chopped a lot of wood, and then heard one woman's cry, and then comes back to find the whole lot of them massacred. But yay for the Hound, anyway.
The Arya scenes was predictable, and not particularly well done. Presumably next episode she'll be in the arms of the actress whose life she saved, and she'll take off on another adventure. Or not.
I'm finding it hard to care at all about the storyline with Jaime and the siege. I hope it finds a way to get interesting soon.
Just give us a bloodbath of religious sycophants at the hands of the Mountain already, dammit!!
- ugh, were* predictable.BuddhaHat
- Did Ian do that? Kinda messed up. I like him as a actor, even though it was a small role, I liked it.sofakingback
- Looks like a bloodbath next weekRamanisky2
- good prediction re: the actress she saved. i'm glad ian mcshane is deadsarahfailin

I read some where that out of all the evil guys on game of thrones Euron Greyjoy is gonna be the worst.
Sounds super interesting, a guy that can top Joffrey and Ramsey. O_O

Did Sansa suck it up and write Baelish for help from the Vail?
- Thats what it looked like huh, she seemed super reluctant to write the note. Who else could she write? Robin? Thats kinda the same thing huhsofakingback
- < this is what my friends and I were thinking as we watched. it'd be a test of little finger to see if he'll really serve her.sarahfailin
- He already said he would. I'm sure he has an ulterior motive about it though. He back-stabbed Ned Stark. Later he got Sansa out of Kings Landing.Jetserf
- Only to take care of Sansa's aunt later :pJetserf
- Miguex-4
- and to those who respond GoT, do you think that Simon should also be in GoT just to make is easier for people to decide what show is best?Miguex

I want to see the Arya story, Bran's story, and for the love of baby Jesus, some more fucking white walker action. The rest of this shit can fuck right off. White walkers baby!!!
I guess The Hound being back is cool too.
- Winter is coming... someday.sarahfailin
- I want to see how Jon Snow's story works out as well. He returned from the dead and killed a white walker(along with Sam). Hope he doesn't die from infection.Jetserf
- OP310
Jaime, Brienne, and Podrick all being in the riverlands makes me feel even more confident that "the new leader" of the brotherhood without banners will be revealed this season. I don't want to give any spoilers away for anyone who hasn't read the books.
It would explain why they are much more ruthless/evil without Beric Dondarrian leading them. The Hound should fit into this as well.
- or maybe the Hound's presence was the reason why everyone was slaughtered.OP31
- "She can't speak... but she remembers."DRIFTMONKEY
- sarahfailin1
Just noticing that no one says "winter is coming" anymore, even though it should be closer than ever. People were saying it every episode in seasons 1 and 2.
- yuekit0
They are saying the final two seasons will only be six or seven episodes long. Seems kind of fast to wrap things up given all the plotlines they have going. It feels like the show isn't even close to the main conflict that it's been building up to for so long.
- < thisoey
- battle, battle, battle, suddenly white walkers everywhere, here's the flying queen with the dragons, yay, we like each other again, the endGreedo
- ...especially at the show's glacial pace. They're never going to resolve these plotlines at the rate they're going.MondoMorphic

- That's anticlimactic.sublocked
- Fire melts ice, Spring has sprung, and Fresh Prince makes a cameo.instrmntl
- Not enough material from GRRM. D&D only have 3 big reveals from GRRM for this season, Jon being alive, Hodor and the whatever is in the season finale(s).vwsung18t
- Plus HBO CEO wants an 8th season when it was only planned to end in 7 from the beginning. They're going add a lot of non book stuff and stretch it outvwsung18t

I just found spoilers for the upcoming episodes on Reddit and now I'm mad @ myself.
- floatingpointmotion1
Does anyone think that this season the show kind of jumped the shark?
Bringing back Jon Snow AND the Hound......very anti-GOT imho.
It is still done at a pretty high level and there are some awesome scenes, but you can feel the artificiality of the plot so much now, where before you never knew what was coming. That made it cool.
It all feels like it is headed toward, as someone said, a big battle with everyone in it at once...
- everyone knew Jon Snow was coming back.Al_dizzle
- kind of. even GRRM didn't seem to know how it's going to wrap up, though I bet they have the broad strokes of it by now.sarahfailin
- in steven king's memoir "on writing" he said when he finds himself in a corner he starts blowing everything up. wraps up all the loose ends.sarahfailin
- I was sure Eddard was coming back, right at the beginning when his daughter was asking if it could bring back a man without a headset
- Sean Bean was the best thing in the showset
- Well and the prostitute getting fingered up the shitter, obviouslyset
- I think they can be redeemed by killing off daenerysdorkKn1ght
- ^ I would love that.DRIFTMONKEY
- Wait til they bring back Lady— I've said too much.i_monk
- I hope daenerys dies from a yeast infection.Jetserf
