Who uses it here?
Tell me whether or not is great for small to medium projects?I used to write almost all of my code myself and not use frameworks but I'm getting old and I just need to make stuff work quickly.
What are you thoughts on CodeIgniter if you used it.. the pros, the cons and alternatives?
Thanks.

the documentation is very helpful when learning to use it. i do very little php programming before using codeigniter but i was able to pick it up rather quickly.
you may want to look at kohana (kohanaframework.org) instead. i've been trying it out and to me suing it is more intuitive than codeigniter.

ah..nice..
I've heard really good things about CodeIgniter but Kohana does look interesting..
The thing with frameworks is that they have to be proven in the field and Expression Engine is built with Code Igniter than it's pretty proven.
I need to build platforms I imagine quickly so I can bring ideas to reality for my startups and I've heard from a couple of people that do it saying good things about CodeIgniter.
I'm just curious what the difference in overall workflow, ease of use and performance is between CodeIgniter and let's say Cake or Zend or Yii.
- yeah, if you're looking for a stable cms codeigniter is betterdijitaq

Have you considered languages other than PHP? I use Django (a Python-based framework) and it makes web app development easy once you get the hang of it.
