i'm looking for some examples of company services/portfolio type video showreels, that don't just show animation or film work as the subject, but perhaps print ad campaigns and interactive as well. but am starting to wonder if it's even a good idea to have a reel for that purpose.
how should a company showcase its services? via a showreel, online portfolio, brochures, or just simply stick to proposal documents with examples of work? is it a good idea to go with all of the above or just focus on one thing. ie. a company like buck may only do reels.

honestly, this is a tough question, and i think that it's almost entirely dependent upon your audience. generally, my thought is that that just a showreel isn't enough, especially if that's not your core discipline (like buck etc.). i think that rga's videos are pretty well done... they're presented like case studies, and walk prospective clients through their process...

i'm seeing fewer and fewer brochures these days, but that really depends on what you do and who your clients are. for example, most of the big agencies that i know of, even digital agencies, still have some form of a brochure, typically used as either an introduction from your biz development guy (i.e. here's a brochure with some relevant work in it... looking forward to chatting with you on tuesday etc.) or as a leave-behind after a physical meeting. hope this helps...

thanks showpony. yeah that's a fair point about it depending on a number of factors.
