I swear people just ask this because they read online that they are supposed to.
I actively invest myself in the interview and ask relevant questions throughout, that I actually want the answers to.
At the end it's always "Do you have any questions?" and I want to scream "Did you not notice the 20 I just asked you?

possibly because they actually weren't listening...

good questions involve recapping the interview. you can then ask about the position itself more closely asking about the goals of the position, whom that position answers towards, what is the responsibilities of said position and what are the expectations.
you can also direct your studies on their company profile and ask towards the companies history, health benefits.. the questions can go on..
this is your time to interview the interviewer. there may be questions you have that you wanted to ask during the interview..
you can and always should recap with your interviewer and set a plan of action of asking for their contact info, and business cards.
if you ask no questions you are mostly placing yourself in a negative area as most interviewers are testing you to see what you can do.

No arguments here e-pill, guess the answer is the recap.
Usually though, responsibilities of the position, company history, why the position is open, etc, all come up naturally during the interview. Otherwise why have the interview?
- the interview is to show them what you can do.. after "your" interview you can ask questionse-pill

I tend to steer it twoards culture at this point - do your people hang out together after hours? What's your perspective on a healthy work enviornment? What sort of non-traditional benefits do you give to your employees.
Basically, don't recap, ask them what they think it's like to work there - seems to work pretty well...

yeah, i was good and did my research, steered the conversation toward areas i wanted more info, and then they dropped that bomb on me. "do you have any questions?"
then their eyes narrow and get beady like some half-starved vulture and just... watch you
