I'm looking for a nicely styled commuter bike. I had a Fuji Track pro for a couple years but I'm sick of the fixed gear in a hill ridden city.
Ideas?

If you're willing to put in some work, pick any frame who's style you like which can also handle a front and rear derailleur - run one of these guys - http://paulcomp.com/melvin.html - so you can keep one gear in the back and 2-3 up front, which should cover most of the scenarios you'll run into downtown.

Fixed gear in a hilly city is what gets you the polka-dot jersey - good training bike, not so hot getting to work and back bike.

what's your budget?

been seeing a lot of 1x9/flat bar/commuters lately. I bought a cheap motobecane from bikesdirect.com. took off the front derailleur and left the 39t ring up front, swapped out the drops and brifters for flat bars and a trigger shifter for the rear d. added clips and platform pedals. fun city bike.

Riding a fixie in Vancouver is insane, I bet you woo all the ladies with your leg muscles. I like how you pass mountain foothills of as "hill ridden city". Anyhoo, there's only one bike for elDoctor:
Kona - PHD - $1499 CDN
I ride one of these around T-Dot:
Specialized Sirrius Expert, pretty comparable to the PHD and quite fast.
