So I'm about to buy my first Iphone, older model. I have a choice of Iphone 3G 8GB for £110, or a Iphone 3Gs 8GB for £150. Is there a big difference between the 3G and 3Gs.

Not huge, but if you aren't getting the 4, at least get the previous most recent model. The 3GS is much much faster than the 3G, the newer iOS updates are compatible (Apple have stopped supported the 3G for some of the 'newer' functions of their software updates).
£40 dude... that's one Friday's beers after work...

I'm on O2 and when my contract on my 3GS ran out the iPhone 4 had been out for about 3 months so I went to the highstreet shop to see what could be done. They said the 32GB iPhone 4 would cost me £239 which I wasn't particularly thrilled about, but they the guy there said that my 32GB 3GS was worth £223 as a trade in so the 4 would cost me £16. I went home, backed up and wiped the 3GS, went back to the shop and picked it up straight away...
Not sure why I'm telling you this, but if you look at www.o2recycle.co.uk you might be surprised what they offer for a 3GS and you could swap it for a 4... maybe... if you want.

3GS is only $49 in the US.
- And the 3G is as useful as a brick with the new OS.monospaced

Try getting an iPhone instead of an Iphone.

Oh and I wouldn't buy the 3GS when iPhone 5 is coming out in June, why don't you get an iPhone 4 or wait for 5?
