Does anyone here know of any well designed websites that have a British/English feel to them that they could let me know about.
Couple of examples along the right lines.

I was thinking use of the Union Jack, more patriotic looking sites.
- Use of the Union Jack generally == nationalist / far right organisations.lukus_W2

If I were you, I'd draw up a list of the well known British Export companies (ie. all those targeting China or America), as they'll've likely done their homework in extracting their Britishness, to best fit their customers' pretensions.
Barbour springs to mind as a site I've seen recently that felt 'British'.

British identity is complex.
Why do you need this info? Who is your actual audience going to be?
I think this is an important distinction, because there are so many facets to Britishness that are entirely dependent on who/where/what the audience is.

Union Jack / patriotic is probably taking you out of the sphere of well designed sites.

just to clarify, if you know what you want to show you will be better off.
there is no such think as a unified UK image.
you've got the scots, the irish and the english and don't mix'em up or they will get all upset. (not worth mentioning wales)then you've got city/country boys, essex girls, pikeys, WAGs, old school chaps... pinstripes suites and wellie boots

The site I'll be working on is a british racing type site, but I wondered what other kinds of sites where out there that incorportated any countries flags etc, other the Tourism sites.
I understand where you all coming from and didn't realise when posting that it would be so difficult.
cheers

Two things.
1 - The BNP website wasn't posted as a piss take. Patriotic examples were requested. Can't think of a more overtly patriotic (albeit disagreeable) organisation, so thought it was a valid reference :|
2 - Finding anything that combines "British" with (I assume Motor) Racing is harder than I first thought. I was gonna suggest a heap of websites for circuits or museums, but they're all generic slick (ish), fast looking sorts of balls :(
http://www.goodwood.co.uk/reviva… Is for an event that probs sums up the style, but the site isn't spectacularly "British".
Some other stuff (not all that nice)...

http://www.brdc.co.uk/Hope that helps! Just make it green and have chequered flags and olive wreaths and shit.

quick reference, if it is racing + britain, you can check rolls royce and bentley. High performance cars typically british.
