Hey check out this one, you win...
'the opportunity to have one of their designs printed on our materials and featured in our next collection'And the fine print:
'All entries become the property of Zafiro Australia and may be used for promotional purposes both during and after the competition.'So basically they've made up a competition to get lots of free artwork and you win the privilege of handing them your artwork and rights to it.

Meh...I still don't see this kind of stuff as a threat. People who go for it, will go for it, and the client will get the quality of work they asked for.

They should see this thread. Maybe a does of reality will at least make them to embarrassed to post something publicly like this with their company's info on it.
lushcoffeetea.com; lushcoffeecompany.com, lushcoffeeandteacompany.com
all available...just sayin

The person that wrote this for Lush coffee and tea has obviously drank to much Lush coffee and tea. Sounds like they're on crack.

Let's start posting similar serious ads for attorneys, doctors, architects, etc. following this method.

"if they don't care enough about their brand to hire a designer to do this, why should we care in the first place?"
because:
"when you see sites like 99cts for a logo, people think you know what? that's what logos are worth, I mean, is just a little drawing how long could that take right? 15 minutes tops."

we had a client come to us who had one of those $40 logos done for him. he thought he had a great deal because he was a start up and wanted a minimal investment in his brand. but next thing he knew, his business took off and he had been using that shitty mark on everything and built up quite a bit of brand equity, and the best we could do for him was polish that turd.. without a full on rebrand, which he wasn't willing to do because dude was cheap to begin with. so ya, its fun to see this kind of shit come around and bite them in the ass.

wow...
this is in San Diego, maybe whoever wrote the ad is not to blame, when you see sites like 99cts for a logo, people think you know what? that's what logos are worth, I mean, is just a little drawing how long could that take right? 15 minutes tops.On the other side, I learned not to get mad at these people, because if they don't care enough about their brand to hire a designer to do this, why should we care in the first place?
these people never had any intention of hiring any of you guys, they are looking for whatever thing lands on their lap just so they can stamp it on their coffee mugs. So in theory no one is loosing any business right?
How's that for my attempt at a positive perspective on this sad story
hahaha

if that what they will pay the designer. imagine what they will pay the workers there. ....in ¢ents?
