I have a big presentation next week and was wondering if anyone could send me some great examples of ecommerce - some I may not know.
They can be unusual, quirky etc.
But solid in terms of user experience. Dont want anything that is awful to use.
Oh and no flahs - all HTML please but AJAX examples would be a bonus.
I would really apporeciate your help - thanks in advance.

i would suggest preparing for it ... in advance.
and if you want submissions, why dont you give a little. contribute by posting what you have already gathered.

Thats what I am doing now, preparing - I'm just starting the presentation - meeting wednesday so plenty of time thank you.
Just know there are always great contributions on this site - I'm not asking you to write it for me pal.
Cheer up its Friday.

The problem is - you're framing the question in the same way that a client might frame a brief.
You're listing what you want and what you don't want - you're getting into specifics .. but at the same time your 'brief' is really vague. Ecommerce is a huge area .. an online grocery site solves a very different problem to an online clothes store.
I agree that it _sounds_ like you're asking for too much - and are waiting around for someone to do your work for you - even if this isn't the case.
My advice would be to start your research - get deeply involved in it .. and then ask specific questions when you hit a road block.

Who cares if it's Flash. Most Flash e-commerce can be recreated easily with JS.
Two recent ones I saw that come to mind are:

http://www.oola-lingerie.com/I also saw this for the first time this week and couldn't believe that they had such an atrocious storefront: http://www.penguinclothing.com/

Right - Plash - clearly you have nothing to offer so move along now please... (and finish your site)
Thanks dMullins.
For the record my presentation is nearly finished now - I'm quite happy with it. All I was asking for were some intresting ecommerce sites that people may have come across... Nothing more complicated than that. I wasn;t asking for help with the presentation - I have lots of examples already but wanted to throw a few quirkier or cutting edge ones into the mix - its fine though, as I said I have ages - its not last minute - its written so all good.
lukus_42 - don't over analyse everything - that could hold you back in life lol - I dont need your advice on presentations - Ive been doing them for 10 years...
Anyway - if anyone else has something useful like dMullins that would be great.
Thanks.

I did a site for someone and I used Volusion (based on the friendly advice of a fellow QBNer). If you hit the Volusion site, you can see TONS of examples of customers using their backend for their sites.
Some good, some crappy. But I'd say you could find tons of examples of quirky e-com sites just by hitting e-com vendors sites.
Does that make sense?
