Anybody tried one? Do you reckon they are OK to watch movies on my Living Room?
Or not even that....

a quick google search shows they are pretty bad

Are £300 projectors any good, or should I just not bother and get a TV

my dad had one for a bit - hated trying to watch sports on it... every time someone would go for a goal, someone would come home, open the door, let all the light in, and i'd miss the play...

and once, the bulb blew - they're suppose to last x number of hours, but it didnt. had to wait a few days for a new one.

Like bjladams has illustrated, the room plays a huge role in deciding whether to get ANY projector. If you have the right setup even a $500 projector will do well, but cheap will produce cheap results. Stay away from Pico and go for something designed for HD.

also unless you have a large room, make sure it's reasonably short-throw. I've got an old skool one at home and struggle to get it right up against the back wall... and it still doesn't cover most of the wall.
